- This paper advances the state of the art by developing and verifying a whale optimization algorithm with application of a modified priority-based encoding procedure, to find quality solutions at reasonable commutation costs for the mixed-integer-nonlinear-programmes (MINLP). This algorithm has been widely adapted by other researchers since its publication (e.g., DOIs 10.1109/ACCESS.2020.2982839 10.1016/j.jclepro.2020.120437 10.3390/app11020489).
