- This research monograph represents the production of a longer-form output, demonstrating sustained research effort, depth and multi-layered investigation. It has analysed a large body of material through the examination of the comparative historical, political and legislative development of unpaid work for adult and young offenders spanning over 50 years. It also reviews and integrates the complex research-evidence base for unpaid work, from the early 1980s. The presentation of critical insight was dependent upon completion of a lengthy period (4 years) of data collection, examining Youth Justice Community Reparation in practice, via observations and interviews with offenders and their supervisors.
