- This monograph represents the sustained research effort by the author, which encompasses a very large number of sources ranging in type and age. A significant number of these have been consulted for the first time in relation to the monograph’s subject. In addition, the book also draws from 10 original interviews conducted by the author, as well as correspondence with several others, which provides valuable new primary material. The monograph draws this all together in a way that contributes significant new insights into Nicholas Hawksmoor, while offering an original methodological approach.
