- This paper proposes and simulates a new distributed consensus algorithm to help nodes detect and compose services in the Internet of Things environment. This work was an international collaboration between City University London, University of Bristol, and Chinese Academy of Sciences. The new method is analysed by detailed probabilistic analysis and computer simulations. Originality: IoT is a young field, and the new distributed algorithm takes a novel approach by reaching local consensus in clusters and then iteratively finding the global consensus
