- What operations management in Home Care organisations entails and what the most challenging issues are, are important research questions that were not explored in previous academic studies. This work is significant because it proposes an IDEF0 activity-based model defining home care operations and a hierarchical framework for operations management decisions. It was undertaken in collaboration with nine home care providers, located in either France or Italy. Most of them appreciated the completeness of the model and added that it can be used as a basis for their accreditation programmes. The developed framework can be deployed on a larger scale.
