- The primary research for this co-authored book involved extensive interviews with Stone and a dozen collaborators, conducted over five years. The authors were also given exclusive access to the director’s Ixtlan Production files, and visited archives in London, Los Angeles, and New York. The research was evenly divided with Scott and Thompson working together on the domestic and overseas trips and sharing the load of archival investigation at each repository or institution. Interviews with all participants were conducted by both authors. The greater majority (80%) of secondary research was done by Scott from material accumulated over many years as well as the ongoing use of libraries and online source material. While some initial drafting of chapters was done by Thompson, the bulk of the writing up (90%) was produced by Scott. Overall, Scott contributed 70% of the time and workload to the 100,000 word book.
