- Additional information
- This co-edited volume (328 pages) comprises introduction; twelve individually authored chapters; bibliography, index locorum, and general index. The attributed individual contributed one chapter (‘Fides under Fire: Virtue and Vice in the Octavia’ 26 pages, approx 8000 words) and co-wrote the introduction (‘Introduction’: 15 pages, approx 5000 words). Many of the contributions arose from two research events, the conference ‘Fides in Flavian Epic’, held at Radboud University, Netherlands (June 2015), which the attributed individual helped to organise, and ‘Fides in Flavian Poetry’, a panel at the Annual Meeting, Society for Classical Studies, January 2016, San Francisco, CA. Chapter contributions were made by scholars from the UK, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, United States, and Canada. After the original collation of chapters, all chapters received one round of revision before final submission. The editing process was collaborative, with each editor taking primary responsibility for a third of the papers, but each editor read and commented critically on all chapters, with special attention to forming connections between individual contributions and drawing out larger overarching themes. The introduction was also drafted together by the three editors. The attributed individual contributed substantively to the general bibliography. In addition to their individual contribution, the attributed individual claims equal responsibility for editing work on this volume with their two co-authors.
