- This monograph is the first book-length treatment of Borges’ classicism in any language. The project combines multiple disciplinary strengths and approaches (Classics, Reception Studies, global comparativism, speculative fiction, Latin American Literature, philosophy, and science) and offers in-depth analyses and interpretations of Borges’ complete oeuvre (poetry, essays, fiction, interviews and epistolary). It includes first-time translations of Borges’ work by myself into English from the original Spanish and French, collects and analyses archive materials not published before, and proposes a new form of reception of antiquity, in which aspects of physics, metaphysics, cognition and memory inform modes of reading the Greco-Roman canon.
