- The research has provided an important future direction in the field, with the goal of achieving optimal composite properties through liquid phase mixing and powder metallurgy. A successful initial optimization of process parameters to produce graphene-reinforced Al matrix composites, via liquid phase mixing and powder metallurgy, has been established. Industrial relevance is seen in that the composites produced showed an increase of ~28% in micro hardness and from fracture analysis, high strength and ductility is possible by obtaining the homogeneity in the composite, with an important route to optimization having been identified in the work.
