- The book investigates the impact of the Enlightenment on Russian military culture, the first study of its kind. The monograph is 120,000 words and in the process of writing it, I used sources in Russian and French languages, which I translated. The research involved numerous trips to the Russian archives where I had to work with hand-written manuscripts.
