- This contribution addresses the scalability problem in web services due to massive service requests. This work was built on Web Scaling Frameworks (WSFs) for offloading scaling to another layer of abstraction, published in another IEEE Transactions on Services Computing paper by the authors. A detailed design for WSFs including modules/components and interfaces were presented, implemented and evaluated theoretically and empirically over 25 million real-world applications. This work has helped the successful creation of a new spin-off company called system8 (https://system8.io/), led by the first author, CEO, who produced the publications as part of his PhD with UWS.
