- This paper achieves the development of an explicit Runge-Kutta-Nyström that possesses the property of “almost” P-stability. It is noteworthy that the property of P-stability has been previously obtained only by implicit methods of the same type, which are much less efficient compared to their explicit counterparts, due to the need to solve a nonlinear system of equations. The paper provides a new methodology of developing explicit “almost” P-stable methods of other types.
