- This work was part-funded by the EPSRC IAA Scheme and Global Wireless Solutions Inc. It led to a patent application (US Patent 10/090,595) and the development of a wireless IoT sensor powered by harvested energy which has been used by Liverpool City Council to monitor the environment (Juliet.Staples@liverpool.gov.uk). The design has won the IET Innovation Award (Highly Recommended) on Emerging Technology Design in 2017.
