- Double-weighted statement
- This monograph is a comparative, transnational study of Irish community and identity in three port cities on the northeastern prow of North America – St. John’s, Newfoundland, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Portland, Maine. The research was completed over a period of 6 years and involved intensive archival work at multiple repositories in each of these three cities, in addition to collections in Ontario and Ireland. This extended research effort together with the thematic range of the volume (running from associational and political culture to engagement with diasporic nationalism) underpin the double-weighting request.
