- Author contribution statement
- This Gaia DR2 paper from Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC) of ~450 scientists describes the mission science products released to the community on behalf of ESA. Co-authorship is governed by strict rules on contribution. Barstow has been a key member of DPAC since it began in 2006, leading the Leicester contribution to the project, modelling the instrument PSF and the effects of the inevitable cumulative radiation damage to the CCDs. The contribution from this work is the required photometric and astrometric precision underpinning the value of the catalogue. Barstow contributed to reviewing and refining the paper.
