- This papers presented the first experimental demonstration of complex polarisation dynamics of rogue waves in a unidirectional ring cavity fibre laser without a saturable absorber. These results led to the development of new approaches to rogue wave mitigation to enable the development of robust and reliable laser systems with advanced characteristics required for metrology and spectroscopy applications. The approach was of interest of the UK companies – TATA Motors, RDM Group, Highways England. Also, the research output contributed directly to the award of H2020 (EID MOCCA Ref. 814147, ETN MEFISTA Ref. 861152, MSCF Photonic RADAR Ref. 840267) grants.
