- The paper presents an algorithm for automatically generating natural language descriptions, particularly for automatic generation of detailed natural language descriptions of a photograph's location. This has significance particularly for large photo archives, that currently rely on manually-provided information, which is often either missing or very sparse. It was accepted at a top-rated Geographic Information Science conference (COSIT'15 20% acceptance rate). It has reinvigorated interest in the area of complex natural language descriptions of space (Derungs and Purves, 2016; Stock and Yousaf, 2018; Ferreira and Delazari, 2019).
