- This book contributes a first major study of the Euro crisis using three cases never compared elsewhere in a single study. The empirical research was particularly ambitious, resting upon discourse analysis of speeches and articles from nine newspapers across three countries, collected online and in archives. The author analysed the data in the original languages, having learned Polish during a six-month research stay in Poland. Written over five years, the book offers an original theoretical argument that challenges the view that identities change dramatically during crisis. It therefore offers a better understanding of the role of identity in EU decision-making.
