- Security and privacy of communications present major challenges in developing smart-home environments. This paper presents PrivHome, our proposed smart-home environment, which is a practical and efficient scheme that innovatively addresses major challenges. For example, no previous work could simultaneously guarantee user/device authentication, secure data storage, and privacy-preserving queries on encrypted data for smart home environments. These are essential for ensuring resilience against several plausible attacks and PrivHome provides all of these.
