- This research (funded by EPSRC 1237553 and Jaguar Land Rover) is the first to publish an expert-driven framework for a more holistic and comprehensive sustainability assessment of automobiles. Some areas of the framework (environmental and social indicators) are currently being used by the Sustainability Engineering department at JLR (iellison@jaguarlandrover.com) in day-to-day decision-making, accounting and prioritising. Engineers from other departments are also being engaged with internal support and training. It has also received attention from Ford Motor Company (Gawron et al.,2018), other fields of research (Multicriteria Decision Analysis (Stoycheva et al. 2018) and supported further successful funding iniatives (e.g. CENTS EP/S036237/1).
