- Double-weighted statement
- This collection is the first in the new field of Early Caribbean Literary History, a field which it defines in its introduction and which its ten chapters consider in depth and from a variety of international, critical perspectives. The book merits double weighting due the complexity and originality of the topic as well as the considerable editorial work required to shape essays from diverse international scholars into a coherent and focused volume. Great effort was taken to ensure the individual contributors were in dialogue while my own contributions (editorial work, one chapter, and co-authorship of the introduction) were substantial.
