- Full-length (212pp) book. SPRinG study - largest quasi-experimental study of effective group work yet - was undertaken over a 4-year period. Involved 120+ schools (3500+ pupils). Teachers and researchers collaboratively collected pre- and post-data for achievement, behaviour, motivation; analysed by multi-level and other parametric statistics. Developed methods: classroom mapping, group motivation questionnaires and interactive observation schedules to assess effectiveness of relational (approach) intervention. Findings clearly identify positive effects (cognitive and behavioural) for inclusive, relational approach to group work for all children in experimental classes. Research develops social pedagogic theory and relational interventions to promote enhanced classroom learning and group work.
