- This book provides a supremely well researched account of the impact of the 2008 financial crisis on subsequent reform of the Irish administrative system. It is rich in detail, displaying deep knowledge of the issues and drawing from dozens of interviews (some 61 in total) with key officials. As a work, it is the culmination of several years of sustained research and reflection. It is of real and clear interest to both students and researchers of Irish public administration, but also to practitioners. It will also be of real interest to those looking at comparative public policy.
