- Developed a bi-directional flux modulation technique and was utilised in the manufacturing of a novel hybrid-excited dual-PM machine prototype with increased torque density (11%), simplified flux control strategy and eliminated rotor position sensor. The prototype machine had 5 times flux regulation and 1.5 times faster speed compared to conventional PM machine counterparts. This work greatly simplified the flux control strategy for the next generation of dual PM machines and led to an invited talk in the Global Scientist Interdisciplinary Forum at Southern University of Science and Technology (Professor Yiming Rong: rongym@sustech.edu.cn).
