- The novel formation control system proposed has led to a £124,901 project funded by Defence and Security Accelerator from the Ministry of Defence, titled "D-FOCUS: Drone-FOrmation Control for countering future Unmanned aerial Systems", with Shum as PI. Informed by this paper, such a project was a co-creation with a drone company Drone.io, Edinbrugh University and Leeds University, to deliver real-world solutions for drone formation controls. The signifiacnce in human crowd modelling is evidenced by an invited talk by the Surrey University in 2019 (invited by Adrian Hilton, a.hilton@surrey.ac.uk), titled "Human Motion Understanding for Visual Computing".
