- This open-access paper has been published in the open-access IEEE journal, IEEE Access, with the impact factor of over 4. There are two key firsts in this paper: we demonstrate both the LED-based indoor positioning hardware prototype and analytical validation for our indoor positioning device. The practical aspect of the research work was nominated by the Times Higher Education for the Technological Innovation of the Year in 2018., https://www.gcu.ac.uk/theuniversity/universitynews/2018-research-nomination-puts-sinan-in-spotlight/ . Our indoor positioning device was also featured on BBC Scotland TV segment at prime time and the video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBKvGPLI5NA
