- Outcome of collaboration with industry (Bekaert Technology Center, Belgium, Wood Group Kenny, Aberdeen, UK) funded by the Energy Technology Partnership. Provides new insights into the physics of momentary liquefaction of the seabed around monopile foundation due to non-linear waves, which were further explored by numerous research groups, e.g. Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang University. Validates an approach to coupling seawave and seabed models, which was subsequently used for similar investigations by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and extended to different types of offshore structures (University of Stavanger, Hohai University).
