- The paper investigates the impact of the location of the window in the reveal of a cavity wall on the thermal bridge. It was found that loss of heat through window’s lintels can be significantly reduced by using newly developed thermal lintels. The research outcome has significant impact on lintel manufacturing industry. Following the completion of this project, the project collaborator Catnic became the first to CE mark its lintel product range in the UK. The project was funded by European Social Fund (ESF) in collaboration with CATNIC (TATA Steel) £135k (project PI: Dr Jiping Bai).
