- This book runs to c. 80,000 words. Original material for the book was first presented in 2008 and developed at further seminar invitations (Warwick, Nottingham, Toronto, Louisiana State) before publication in 2015. Research involved an intensive 2-week visit to the Doucet archive (2013) to look at a large volume of material only available on site, some of which was of restricted access within the archive. A sustained effort was required to analyse and write up the source material, not so much in volume as in diversity across the 4 Chapters (manuscripts of published and unpublished poems, psychoanalysis, Buddhism, film, science).
