- This monograph represents findings from a sustained period of research and knowledge of a wide range of inter-disciplinary critical and theoretical sources. Its main arguments are based upon the generation and analysis of original accounts from 120 participants who took part in the associated ‘re-memorying’ research project. It also draws upon a body of childhood memoirs and engages with a range of critical areas and disciplines, including children’s literature, memory studies, psychology, and reader response theory. It puts forward a new theoretical framework for rereading, offering insights into this practice from cognitive, affective, socio-cultural, and literary perspectives.
