- Rewriting Jesus is an innovative creative-critical monograph which marks a significant intervention in the field of religious culture by analysing a group of literary and cinematic texts which explore the theological, spiritual and cultural legacy of Jesus. The book has a rigorous historical spine, contains a series of sensitive analytic readings, and concludes with a novella, “Ecce Homo”, which reimagines the life of Jesus, using hybrid modes and forms that draw off the critical elements that preceded it. It bridges academic, theological and creative terrain, interweaving expositions of Christological debates with analysis of the novels and films.
