- Published in Bioinformatics that is ranked 3rd out of 59 journals in Mathematical & Computational Biology, this paper describes a general new computational algorithm to predict putative binding surfaces of new drugs in proteins involved in major diseases, e.g. cancer and cardiovascular diseases. After publication, it was selected for a presentation in the most important conference in biomolecular simulations (BPM2018 acceptance rate 25%) and was recommended in F1000Prime as being of special significance in its field. Open source (GPL) C+Python software is available on github (https://fornililab.github.io/dfs).
