- This research breaks the bottleneck of the necessity of a good initial design for 3D microwave filter synthesis and opens the gate for practical industrial use. University of Birmingham and its industry partners successfully synthesized several challenging filters and diplexers using this algorithm and its improved version, for which, existing tools are not able to. The improved version was decided to be embedded into MATLAB (Vishwanath Iyer, viyer@mathworks.com) and possibly Keysight EMPro (Tom Demuer, tom.demuer@keysight.com).
