- This paper demonstrates a new approach for designing an antenna array of aggressively sparsely distributed antenna elements for projecting multiple orthogonal fixed beams. The proposed approach substantially reduces the number of RF chains in a MIMO system. This work presents a crucial new strategy for the future massive MIMO communication systems of the fifth and the sixth generation. The outcomes of this work were essential for obtaining in 2020 research grant EPSRC grant: EP/S007954/1 £875K.
