- The research was carried out in collaboration with an international collaborator (Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transportation, Egypt). This novel work proposes a new acoustic emission (AE) method as a reliable measure for welds health inspection and integrity assessment. This work led to industrial funding from SMS Oilfield Ltd & CENSIS (Project no. 14-327), for AE for sand monitoring applications, and from Xi Engineering Consultants Ltd. & the Oil & Gas Innovation Centre (OGIC) (Project no. 15-469) for a damping solution for small-bore pipework.
