- Developing News: Global Journalism and the Coverage of "Third World" Development is a substantial and complex investigation into a unique set of themes. The monograph weaves together research from the three areas of development studies, world history, and journalism and media studies to build a complex theoretical framework. It then uses this framework to conduct critical discourse analysis of a large corpus of primary related news materials over several decades -including unique topics such as how the GDP measure has been reported at the expense of good development policies.
