- This paper was a three-way collaboration, originally conceived of by Carter and co-author 2 (Alfano). Co-author 3 (Cheong, a computer scientist) was brought on to the project to assist with data analysis. Carter wrote much of the first version of the paper; Alfano was primarily responsible for drafting the section on bottom-up technological seduction; Carter was involved in the drafting of all parts of the final version
