- Double-weighted statement
- Christmas and the British is proposed for double-weighting as a longer-form output demonstrating sustained research effort. It is a 120,000 word monograph deriving from an extended research project that explored the variations, similarities, ruptures and continuities in the celebration of the Christmas period across different chronologies, classes, genders, regions, nations, religions, and political groups. It draws on different archives, and broadcast, film, sound , material culture, and oral history collections, and an extensive range of published memoirs, diaries, books, newspapers and magazines. It utilizes primary sources from all four nations of the United Kingdom and a 100-year-long chronological span.
