- This Special Issue devoted to new work by leading Edgeworth scholars originated in a two-day international conference at the Centre for Eighteenth-Century Studies at the University of York in June 2018. The attributed individual was invited to give the closing plenary lecture. One of the organizers (co-editor) and the attributed individual approached European Romantic Review with a proposal for a Special Issue drawing on the best of the work presented at the conference. They chose and commissioned the essays. Both of them read each essay and offered comments, and the attributed individual asked two other scholars of eighteenth-/nineteenth-century Irish literature to peer review the subsequent revised drafts, including those by co-editors. The attributed individual handled all of the peer review process, summarising and relaying the peer reviewers’ comments and recommendations to the authors, and the co-editors then both reread the final drafts. The attributed individual wrote most of the introductory essay for the Special Issue, with some input from the co-editor.
