- This paper is one of the key outputs resulting from eight years of research developing Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to the accounting and finance domain. The work was funded by four ESRC grants with co-funding from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) ensuring its direct dissemination into professional bodies and regulators. As well as helping to move forward the state of the art in financial text mining research, it has also led to funded collaborations with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA).
