- The paper presents a new antenna concept that outperforms previous designs in terms of compactness, bandwidth, and efficiency. The proposed design solutions influenced the work of communication engineering groups such as at Reykjavik University, Iceland (DOI:10.1049/cp.2017.0228, DOI:10.1109/LAWP.2018.2802921, DOI:10.1049/iet-map.2017.0644, DOI:10.1109/COMPEM.2018.8496716) and notably the joint collaboration between The Royal Military College of Canada and The Space Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Applications Team, within Defence Research and Development Canada (DOI:10.23919/EuCAP48036.2020.9135610, DOI:10.23919/EuCAP.2017.7928790, DOI:10.1002/mmce.21270). This antenna designed in collaboration with the authors of the paper is currently employed by the Canadian military to monitor the Arctic territories [Defence Research and Development Canada Agency contact available].
