- The Yellow Demon of Fever: Fighting Disease in the Nineteenth-Century Transatlantic Slave Trade (YUP, 2020) This book was made possible thanks to a Philip Leverhulme Prize I was award-ed in 2014 and is the result of over 20 years of research and writing. The book is a truly circus-Atlantic study of the struggle against diseases and disease environments in the nineteenth-century Atlantic world, which brings together sources written in several different languages and housed in different archives from three continents.
