- Output addresses general industrial problem: systems are upgraded or replaced and new systems are required to be at least as good as previous ones. There is no consensus on how to reason formally about this property. This output introduces a formal mathematical treatment (via conservative Bayesian methods) that addresses this challenge and reveals possible fallacies in more informal reasoning. Work has been done to extend the presented techniques for assessing autonomous vehicles, through research collaboration with Intel (first presented in the best paper session at ISSRE2019 and extended in Zhao, Salako, Strigini, Robu & Flynn 2020).
