- This book is the culmination of the author’s sole programme of research conducted from 2005-2018. It is comprised of thirteen chapters based upon unique case studies only two of which were previously published. The investigations reflect upon ethnic conflicts and environmental accidents, focusing on the role of materials as “evidentiary agents” in legal trials and rights-based forums. The research involved extensive fieldwork as well as archival inquires and was supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, Daiwa Foundation (Japan), Graham Foundation (US) and ERC under the auspices of Forensic Architecture. It advances an original conceptual framework and critical methodology.
