- We demonstrate for the first time spatial and temporal resolved measurements of the pharmaceutical coating process with terahertz and optical coherence tomography in-line sensing. The work underpins future process investigation and is the subject of an awarded EPSRC First Grant application (EP/R019460/1). This paper was one of the most downloaded and cited articles (https://www.journals.elsevier.com/journal-of-pharmaceutical-sciences/most-cited-articles) and is the subject to an invited talk at 2018 Compaction Simulation Forum. This work was performed in collaboration with Bosch Packaging Technologies, BASF and Coloron, where invited lectures at ‘Scale Up’ workshops were delivered (https://pharmablog.syntegon.com/2018/08/02/best-ratings-for-scale-up-seminar-at-huttlin-bosch/). It also led to a commercial system OCT-100 (http://www.szthz.org/index.php/Achievement-index-id-27.html).
