- The research leading to the published outcomes was funded by the Natural Science Foundation of China (grant 51678488) and by Sichuan Province's Building Environment and Energy Efficiency, Youth Science and Technology Innovation programme (grant 2015TD0015). The research was conducted collaboratively between the University of Hertfordshire, the Southwest Jiaotong University, China and Concordia University, Canada. A new solar-road and soil-regenerator hybrid energy system is developed offering the transport industry a highly efficient, low-carbon, environmentally friendly technology, attracting quickly interest from academia, industry and public organisations.
