- Epilepsy is the most common brain disorder in children. When drugs fail, surgery can be curative but relies on brain abnormality detection. This work is the largest evaluation of Electrical Source Imaging (using EEG) and functional MRI used individually or together for epilepsy surgery evaluation in children. It innovatively combines the spatial information from each test with a Bayesian estimation of sensitivity and specificity that overcomes the limitations of standard statistical methods.
