- Double-weighted statement
- This is a substantial, single-authored monograph based on extensive, complex research into diverse topics in philosophy and politics. It is thus of significant scale and scope. The monograph comprises detailed analyses of the history of subjectivity in Western philosophy, contemporary theories of political recognition, feminist accounts of the gendered self, and current issues concerning the legal and political recognition of trans individuals. It synthesises these disparate but connected topics and perspectives into an original, multi-layered account of socio-political recognition and the gendered self. It is based on over four years of sustained research.
