- This international (Japan, China, UK) multi-institution (Tokyo Met. Univ., Ocean Univ., Dalian Inst., SHU) research developed novel BiOBr catalysts with PVP as “organic armour” which extend the scope and comprehension of photocatalysts with superior performance, with several environmental purification applications. This research was part of ongoing TMU-SHU collaborations, taking it in entirely new directions for environmental remediation using semiconductor photocatalysts, and enabling new collaborations with China (Ocean, Dalian). The work was supported by a grant from the Tokyo Human Resources Fund for City Diplomacy (H29-1) and generated ongoing collaborations and further publications.
