- The methodology proposed in this work led to grants - HKRGC CUHK14301718 (HK$456,452) and HKRGC CUHK300614 (HK$900,258). It is a full version of the paper in EMMCVPR (https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-642-40395-8_18). A reviewing article was invited from SIAM News (https://sinews.siam.org/Details-Page/smoothing-and-thresholding-a-flexible-methodology-for-image-segmentation). Many international talks were invited, such as: Opening Talk, SIAM Conference on Imaging Science, Bologna, Italy, 2018 (https://sinews.siam.org/Details-Page/imaging-science-community-meets-in-bologna); The 28th Biennial Numerical Analysis Conference, UK, 2019 (https://numericalanalysisconference.org.uk/meetings/2019). It partially led to Dr Tieyong Zeng’s promotion from assistant professor to associate professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Dr Xiaohao Cai’s permanent lectureship position in ECS at University of Southampton.
